Project Description: Assisted USMC staff with developing an annual GIS database update/validation cycle to provide precise, reliable geospatial information. Provided technical support for the creation and visualization of data layers and map products using ArcGIS for Desktop Basic to Advance (version 10.1 and higher) with the following extensions: Network Analyst, 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Publisher and Data Reviewer, ArcSDE, and ArcGIS Server software.

  • Supported natural resource conservation, environmental compliance and restoration, cultural resource management, military training and airfield operations, facility planning, SR&M, disaster planning, and emergency response
  • Data creation, maintenance/validation, data integration, compliance with spatial data standards, mapping, analysis, metadata development, process model development, data distribution, data catalog updates, web‐based map services, and technical assistance/training to GIS users
  • Updated the enterprise GIS master database layers for spatial geometry and attributes and metadata associated with each GIS data layer
  • Generated/regenerated standard (living) map products
  • Maintained compliance with GIS Data Standards and the Specifications for Geospatial Data Deliverables
  • Reviewed technical requirements to meet data development objectives
  • Performed quality control on data deliverables received for inclusion in the GIS
  • Provided support for GIS strategic planning and resolution of issues
  • Provided technical assistance and training to GIS users
