PFAS Phase I Remedial Investigations, Air National Guard (ANG) Installations in Michigan and Illinois

Project Description: Multi-installation, multi-site Phase I remedial investigations to determine nature and extent of contamination related to past aqueous film-fighting foam (AFFF) PFAS release areas. Work is performed at four Air National Guard (ANG) installations in Illinois and Michigan. The work at the ANG facilities in Illinois (Capital Airport AGS and Peoria ANGB) involve five AFFF sites and 14 potential release locations (PRL). The work at the ANG facilities in Michigan (Kellogg and Alpena ANGBs) involves 17 PRLs. Project sites include fire training areas and suspected spill sites (hangars, storage areas).

  • Project management tasks including developing and maintaining project management plans and preparing installation-specific and contract wide integrated master schedules
    • Performing a wide range of remedial investigation activities, including:
  • Preparing planning documents (installation-wide UFP-QAPPs, APP/HASP, QMPs, task-specific work plans)
    • Determining vertical and lateral extent of PFAS in soil, groundwater, sediments, surface water/stormwater
    • Updating/developing conceptual site models (CSM)
    • Sampling and analysis, data management, data validation
    • Performing human health and ecological risk assessment
    • Preparing Remedial Investigation Reports (draft, draft final, final)
