Project Description: This project, administered by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District, on behalf of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Region 2, is a completion contract. It includes continuing maintenance of the EPA-owned Alternative Water Supply (AWS) pipeline serving the communities of Halfmoon and Waterford, New York; in-place abandonment of the AWS pipeline in a way that protects the public and preserves most of the pipeline for potential future use by the municipalities through which it passes; and supporting the transfer of the AWS pipeline and Operations & Maintenance responsibility to the local municipalities.
