Comprehensive Environmental Compliance Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC
Project Description: Provided installation-wide environmental compliance services, including hazardous waste management, air compliance, stormwater management, and environmental training for MCAS staff.
- On-site technical staff with specialized experience integrated with the NAS Cherry Point team to provide on-going environmental compliance services
- Hazardous Materials Management System (HMMS) database management including tracking the disposition of waste, coordinating hazardous waste storage, inspecting the 90-day storage and RCRA Part B permitted areas and managed off-site shipments for treatment/disposal
- Air quality compliance services, including support for the Continuous Opacity Monitoring System (COMS), initial compliance testing as required by the Title V Air Permit 112(j) requirements, the annual AEI, and annual MRR GHG emissions inventory
- Reporting of greenhouse gas emissions
- Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know (EPCRA) reporting
- Conducted a stormwater structural best management practices inventory and inspection program and developed a Stormwater Sampling Analysis and Monitoring (SAM) Plan to assist the base with NPDES permit-required monitoring compliance
- Designed a variety of training and outreach materials with an environmental theme of solid waste reduction and recycling awareness
- Outreach opportunities included Earth Day, Recycling Day, and other outreach events or fairs that provide training or increase environmental awareness
